About Yuxi Chen

I’m a double major in Mathematics-Statistics and Digital Media Studies at the University of Rochester, interested in how data, game systems, and player experiences come together. I study why people stay, why they leave, and what makes a product worth coming back to.
Through my internship at Zhejiang Yizhong, where I participated in the CPHI exhibition, and my experience with ChinaJoy-related work at Caohejing, I gained exposure to international business, digital entertainment, and cross-cultural collaboration. My academic projects also allow me to explore how design choices shape interactive experiences.
Outside of gaming, I enjoy creative writing, character design, and worldbuilding. These interests have taught me to think about storytelling, character motivations, and how people connect with fictional worlds. I also enjoy analyzing RPGs and live-service games, especially their mechanics, progression systems, and player communities. I often find myself asking, “Why did the designer make this choice?” while I’m playing.
