Internship

2026  |   Project Management, Game Industry Events, Event Operation

Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corp.

Project Management & Digital Entertainment Operations

During my internship at Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corp., I worked on projects at the intersection of digital entertainment, game development, and cultural and creative industries. My responsibilities included project planning, stakeholder coordination, operational execution, and problem-solving. Two major projects shaped my experience: the ChinaJoy 2026 exhibition pavilion and the WenChuang Shanghai game competition.

PROJECT 01 — ChinaJoy 2026 Exhibition Pavilion

Role: Project Lead / Exhibition Coordinator

Project Overview

Caohejing participated in ChinaJoy 2026 for the first time with an exhibition pavilion representing four resident digital entertainment companies. The project required coordinating multiple partners, translating the event’s theme into a cohesive exhibition experience, and managing execution under a fixed opening deadline.

My Responsibilities

* Project Planning & Research: Researched previous ChinaJoy exhibitions, booth layouts, visitor traffic patterns, and organizer requirements to inform project planning.
* Partner Coordination: Coordinated four participating companies, aligning their demonstration requirements, branding needs, and exhibition space allocation.
* Design & Production: Worked with design and construction teams to develop the pavilion around the official theme, “Alongside AI,” and supervised on-site construction.
* Operational Testing & Risk Identification: Conducted a pre-opening walkthrough, identified potential bottlenecks and equipment issues, and coordinated adjustments to the layout, signage, and power supply.
* On-site Operations: Managed exhibition operations over three days, monitoring visitor flow, supporting participating companies, and adjusting staffing and demonstration schedules in response to observed needs.

Outcome

The pavilion was delivered on time and within budget. All four participating companies were successfully accommodated, and the exhibition operated without critical failures. I also prepared a post-event report with recommendations for future participation.

PROJECT 02 — WenChuang Shanghai Game Competition

Role: Competition Planning

The WenChuang Shanghai game competition was another major project during my internship. I was responsible for developing the competition’s planning approach, contributing to the organization of a game-related initiative within Shanghai’s cultural and creative industries.

This project allowed me to explore the planning side of game-industry events, translating a project objective into a structured competition concept. Together with my ChinaJoy experience, it broadened my understanding of how game-related initiatives are planned, coordinated, and brought into practice.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

This internship strengthened my ability to approach projects from both a strategic and operational perspective. I learned to research before planning, coordinate stakeholders with different needs, identify potential problems before they affect execution, and adapt plans based on real-world observations.

More importantly, these projects helped me connect my interests in game design, analytical thinking, and player-facing experiences with the practical work of the digital entertainment industry.
